About Us! I have been a local resident of the Bellarine Peninsula for over 24 years, and have recognised the need for quality and well priced IT support in this area. I completed hardware support training at Interim Technology in Melbourne in 1997, and then spent a brief period at Boeing Australia, and Billy Guyatts in IT support roles, before being hired by Deakin University as a Network Engineer. Providing support to a 2000 user network, across multiple locations. I spent roughly 2 years at Deakin, including a brief stint overseas in London, before moving to Darwin in 2002. The NT government introduced a scheme known as LATIS, Learning And Technology In Schools, and I was employed as a Team Leader on the Darwin Central, and Remote Site installation team, and was required to install and setup satellite systems at locations around the NT to enable individual schools to connect to this system. Upon returning to Victoria, I was employed by the Department of Defence as a Network Technician, providing support across a Windows based system, at all levels from Networking to Desktop support...and even Furniture Removal!! I then spent a period working as Cotton On Clothing's IT administrator at the Head Office in Geelong, and I am now running Barracuda Systems as a full time business. My goal with Barracuda Systems is to provide a high level of service, at a low price. Which is why my onsite support starts at just $40 per hour. I have done a fair amount of research into support pricing around the area, and rates vary from $80 to over $200 per hour. While I am fully qualified to bill my services at this price, and have even been contracted out to clients at $275 an hour by a previous employer, I am also a home PC user, and realise that there is no way Mr & Mrs Bloggs can pay that sort of money to clean a virus, or install a DVD Burner! So I offer my services at a discounted price. Too good to be true you say? Not so, my theory is that the average home user will not pay big money to fix a fault on a home PC, and most likely will stutter through it, or get a backyard PC specialist to hack around. So if I can charge a fraction of the normal costs and pick up business that normally would go begging, I have made a success of it! I also provide support for Small to Medium Businesses. I am Microsoft Qualified (MCP) and have also done several Nortel Networking courses, and I am able to design and install networking for your business computer system. From doing the initial consultation of your needs, to arrange a cabling contractor and finally setting up and installing your system. I already have several clients in the area who fit this description. So if you have any problems, or questions, please give me a call. I can also analyze your data back up needs, and install a backup solution for your business, including off site storage if required. I Currently provide IT support to all the Bellarine Peninsula from Newcomb onwards, and also Torquay and Jan Juc. Other locations by arrangement.
